Ten Major Infringement Cases Related to Famous International Brands

Recently, the Ministry of Public Security of the People’s Republic of China announced ten major cases on infringing IP rights of the famous international brands. These ten cases are closely related to people’s livelihood, covering various products including shoddy daily necessity such as the fake “Whisper” sanitary pad and many other poor quality maternal and infant supplies, the counterfeit “Dior” and “CHANEL” cosmetics and fake “Durex” hygiene supplies, as well as products which are important to people’s lives and safety, like lube in the fake Shell brand and imitative “Schneider” electrical switches.

 

Among these cases, the highest amount of money involved is more than 300 million yuan. From the beginning of 2014, the Ministry of Public Security continues to intensify the fight against IP crime. Till now, there are 14,000 related cases have been solved, with 18,000 suspects being arrested.
